The Inspiration
With over a decade of experience as a Cabinet Maker, Caleb's passion for craftsmanship led to the inception of Grainwork Design in 2018, providing a platform for his artisanal creations.
While handling larger projects by day, Caleb's workshop remains his sanctuary, where he channels creativity into everything from pens and furniture to fully integrated interior design solutions.
In 2019, Caleb teamed up with Lauren, and together they strengthened the company’s dedication to impeccable design and functionality. In 2024, Lauren officially began offering interior design services, allowing Grainwork Design to provide comprehensive design solutions alongside custom millwork.

About Caleb
Caleb is a dedicated full-time Cabinet Maker, spending his days honing his craft in the shop. His journey in the industry began in 2011, immersed in a workshop with over 250 years of combined expertise. This experience profoundly influenced his development as a skilled cabinet maker and designer.
During downtime, he explores new tools and woodworking techniques, enjoys bike rides, and unwinds with video games.
“I’ve always known I wanted to work with my hands and showcase what I’ve created. Grainwork Design has been a way to create usable artwork to last for generations. As I continue to grow in my craft, I’m always building new things or perfecting existing techniques—it’s the easiest way for me to lose track of time!”
About Lauren
Lauren’s career journey is marked by a passion for design and adept project management within Toronto's entrepreneurial landscape. With a background supporting local businesses, she seamlessly transitioned into entrepreneurship, driven by curiosity and a commitment to delivering exceptional design solutions.
In 2024, Lauren began offering interior design services, expanding Grainwork Design’s offerings to include full-scale space planning and personalized design solutions, complementing Caleb’s custom woodworking expertise.
As a skilled project manager, Lauren brings clients’ visions to life—whether that’s a custom furniture piece or a full interior design project—combining her eye for detail with meticulous oversight. She also shares her expertise as an instructor at George Brown College and enjoys walks with Logan, their dog, while planning her next travel adventure.
